Topic

A job shows a single rolled-up status that reflects where it truly is in its lifecycle. This is why a job you marked 'completed' can show as 'invoiced' once you raise its invoice.

Instructions

  1. 1
Read the badge at the top of the job.

It shows the current lifecycle status — the same value you see on the dashboard and job list.

  2. 2
    Know the order of precedence.

Invoices win: once a job is invoiced it reads 'invoiced' (or 'paid'/'overdue'), regardless of the underlying work step.

  3. 3
    Quote state refines early stages.

Before work starts, the status reflects the linked quote — draft, sent, accepted or declined.

  4. 4
Check the history for the detail.

The job's status history lists every raw step (in progress, completed, on hold…) with who changed it and when.

Additional Information

The rolled-up status keeps the dashboard, job list and job page consistent, so a job never looks like it's in two places at once.

The raw work steps aren't lost — they live in the job's history timeline for a full audit trail.
