How to add a client
Updated recently
Topic
Clients are the customers you quote and invoice. Adding one captures their contact and address details so they flow onto documents and show on a map.
Instructions
- 1Go to Clients and click New client.
Give the client a name — usually the business or account name.
- 2Add the contact person, email and phone.
The email is used when you send quotes and invoices, so it's worth adding up front.
- 3Enter the address using the structured fields.
Street, suburb, city, region and country each have their own field; the client page shows their location on a map.
- 4Save.
You can now raise quotes, jobs and invoices against this client, and everything links back to their record.
Additional Information
The client detail page shows their jobs, quotes, invoices and expenses in one place, plus a Google Map of their address.
Use the Residential/Commercial toggle on the client — commercial clients surface maintenance contracts more prominently.
If you use Xero, clients sync as contacts — see Integrations → Xero contacts.
