Topic

A credit note reduces what a customer owes on an issued invoice — for a return, an overcharge or a goodwill adjustment. WorkshopMax credits against the invoice rather than paying cash back.

Instructions

  1. 1
Open the issued invoice you want to credit.

You can credit any invoice that's been issued (not a draft).

  2. 2
    Click Credit note.

Add the lines and amounts you're crediting.

  3. 3
    Save and review.

The credit note gets its own number and shows against the original invoice.

  4. 4
If connected, it pushes to Xero.

The credit note is created in Xero and allocated against the invoice there too.

Additional Information

Raising a credit note adds an entry to the invoice's history so the adjustment is fully traceable.

WorkshopMax handles credit-against-invoice, not cash refunds — the credit reduces the outstanding balance.
