WorkshopMax supports two ways of billing a job. Choosing the right one up front means the invoice compiles correctly with no manual maths.

Set the billing type when you create the job.
Fixed price for an agreed lump sum; time & materials for actuals.

For fixed price, the quoted amount is the base.
Extra work is added as variations on top, so the customer sees the agreed price plus any approved extras.

For time & materials, actuals drive the total.
The invoice compiles the labour, materials and billable expenses recorded against the job.

Review before invoicing.
You can override any compiled line before you send, whichever type you chose.

You can mix approaches — a fixed-price job can still carry billable variations and expenses.

The billing type only affects how the invoice is built; the job itself runs the same either way.
