How deposits and overdue reminders work
Updated recently
Topic
WorkshopMax helps your cashflow two ways: it can raise a deposit invoice automatically when a quote is accepted, and it can chase overdue invoices for you so you're not doing it by hand.
Instructions
- 1Set a deposit percentage in Defaults → Pricing.
Set it above 0 to switch on auto-deposits; leave it at 0 to turn them off.
- 2Let the deposit raise on acceptance.
When a customer accepts a quote, WorkshopMax creates a deposit invoice for that percentage automatically.
- 3Let overdue reminders send themselves.
Once an invoice passes its due date, WorkshopMax sends polite reminders and records that it chased, so nothing slips.
- 4Track what's outstanding.
The invoice shows when it was last reminded, and payments flowing back from Xero close the loop.
Additional Information
Automated chasing runs on a schedule, so reminders keep going out even when you're on the tools.
Deposit and reminder behaviour is yours to set — turn either on or off to suit how you like to work.
