How to set your labour rates and pricing defaults

Set up the labour rates and default markups you use every day so quotes and jobs price themselves. You only need to do this once, then tweak as your rates change.

Instructions

1. 1
   Go to Defaults → Pricing.

   This holds your labour rates and default markup settings.

2. 2
   Add each labour rate you charge.

   For example a standard shop rate, an after-hours rate and an apprentice rate — each with its hourly charge.

3. 3
   Set your default materials and expense markup.

   New billable expenses and materials use this markup automatically; you can override it on any line.

4. 4
   Save.

   From now on, quotes and jobs pull these rates in so you're not typing prices from memory.
